Our Testimony

Wayne–  I was saved at age 14 in my hometown of South Lyon, Mi. after church on Sunday morning in June 1974 when a church worker showed me from the Bible how to be saved when I ask Christ to save me from my sin and come into my life. Some weeks later I lost my ride to church and about 2 years later I rededicated and joined a Baptist church in the same town and was scripturally baptized.   I entered the military at age 18 (1977) and served 3 years.  After 4 years out I reentered the military and in Germany (1989) while on guard duty I sensed God wanted me in fulltime service for Him. I attended TN Temple Univ and after graduation from the seminary (1997) I was commissioned as a Chaplain in the Army.  I retired after 23 years in July 2012.  In Sep 2012 I was accepted with Armed Forces Baptist Mission to help Wounded Warriors with PTSD find Christ.

Terri– I was raised in church all my life. My family was Church of Christ. That of course did not make me a Christian. I met my husband in 1980 and He began to explain that you can’t lose your salvation nor can you earn it. So I truly did believe that I had accepted the Lord and was then baptized again. In 1988 while stationed in Germany the Holy Spirit begin to work on my heart. I remember the pastor telling us you and be lost and still be teaching Sunday school and doing work for the Lord. It began to bother me that pastor kept saying this. One night after watching the Thief in the Night movie the Holy Spirit spoke to me and convicted my heart that I not ask Jesus to truly be my Lord and Savior. So that night, I truly accepted Jesus as my personal Savior. I know that I am saved and on my way to heaven.
